A Little History
In their quest to heat their home, an electrician and his wife bought a Central Boiler furnace in 1997. Scott and Karen Bradley had dramatically increased the size of their house and were looking for cost-effective ways to keep it warm. As they investigated all the alternatives, they realized that independence from foreign oil and self-sufficiency would be easy to achieve with an outdoor furnace.
After deciding on the concept of an outdoor wood furnace, they researched further. Being an electrician gave Scott the background to really understand the technology and conduct a thorough analysis. They chose Central Boiler as research revealed it to be the best furnace on the market. After it was installed, it far exceeded their expectations - for output, cost savings, low maintenance, and their independence from foreign oil and utility companies. They have not purchased oil since they first fired it up so long ago! Scott and Karen believed in the product so much, they wanted to share this remarkable find with others, so they became a dealer for Central Boiler.
Word got out and the furnace business grew. But with time and growth of their business, they realized that the fuel-efficient outdoor wood furnaces are not a product for everyone. They wanted to provide more options. In February 2007, they opened The Stove Shop at Mainline Heating and Supply to support their community’s move toward independence from “the standard” heating solutions. The store features an attractive showroom so you can see the indoor appliances first hand, plus there is lots of room for the outdoor furnaces, parts, fuel, and supplies.
Today, Scott and Karen Bradley are still your hosts at Mainline and are still using their original Central Boiler furnace and now use one at the store. They have taken the outdoor furnace business to unprecedented levels – breaking records in the industry in service, knowledge, and sales. They sold their 1000th Central Boiler furnace in 2008!
