What makes a classic? Take a closer look. Superior design, expert manufacturing quality, efficient operation, and customer convenience are built into every model. No wonder it is the top selling outdoor wood furnace.
The Central boiler outdoor wood furnace was built with the customer in mind. It is the most efficient, simple, well designed outdoor wood furnace on the market.
- Front Night Light - For outside work and nighttime loading. It can be controlled by photocell for automatic activation at dark.
- Molded Plastic Corners - Installed for safety, fit, and a great finished look on the four roof corners.
- Urethane Foam Insulation - Insulation is sprayed on and forms a 100% airtight seal around the water jacket providing a R 60 value on top and a R 30 value on the sides and bottom.
- High Capacity Water Jacket - Certified high quality steel used -- no mixed metals. Receives multiple pressure tests to ensure welding integrity. Incorporates an outlet for draining and inspection.
- Cam Loc® Door Closure - The specially designed curved ends of the door latch fit precisely around adjustable, sealed roller
bearings guaranteeing an airtight seal each time the door is closed.
- Large, Insulated cast-iron Door - Ergonomically designed with a 31" height for easy loading. Insulated for maximum efficiency. Powder coated for increased paint durability. 25 year warranty on casting.
- Conduit to Door - Flexible high grade 3/8" steel conduit provides maximum protection for electrical wiring.
- Automatic Draft Control - thermostatically controls water temperature in system. Solenoid is protected by louvered draft cover.
- Lift Tab - Braced and welded directly to firebox and water jacket.
- Vent Cap - Design eliminates evaporation.
- Water Level Sight Gauge - For easy monitoring of water level. Valve to drain water for testing. Conveniently located on front of the furnace.
- Easily Accessible Controls - Located just above the access panel.
- Adjustable Water Temperature - Digital temperature with LED display, can be adjusted between 150 and 195 degrees.
- Side Night Light - Mounted on side panel pump cover.
- Side Access Panel Pump Cover - Houses instruction labels for operating temperature controller, wiring schematics for access box and panel, as well a main power disconnect switch. Also, conveniently holds water test kit and owner's manual.
- Ripple Top® Design - For increased heat transfer area and lower maintenance.
- Water-Filled Heatlock Baffle™ - Creates secondary combustion area for intense heat collection and transfer. Traps heat in firebox - won't warp or burn out with extreme heat.
- Double Wall Insulated Chimney - New and improved stainless steel design virtually eliminates condensation. Extremely rugged, yet easy to install extensions are available.
- Rear Exhaust Outlet - Heavy-gauge chimney outlet transition through back increases efficiency and eliminates leaky seal of chimney through roof.
- Rectangular Firebox - Engineered with stay pins -- won't collapse like round designs can.
- Ash Pan - 3/8" thick, formed ash pan is durable and easy to clean.
- Skid Base Framework - Makes installation easy with or without cement foundation. Only the CL 7260 and Pallet Burner require a slab.
- Durable Steel Frame and Siding - Heavy-gauge welded steel framework engineered for enhanced strength of side panels and roof. All weather steel siding is overlapped for tighter seal. Panels and corners fastened with high-quality coated screws for greater durability.
- Choice of 9 Different Colors - Most models are available in yo
ur choice of 9 different color side panels to compliment the look of your home and yard.
- Twenty-Five Year Limited Warranty - Central Boiler parts and labor coverage stands alone in comparison to other outdoor wood furnace manufacturers' warranties. The Pallet Burner model carries a one-year warranty.

- Bottom Grates - These allow ashes to fall away from the coals and the fire does not re-light when the damper opens. They also plug up, making ash removal more difficult. It also is an area not being used to heat your water. Remember, heat transfers, hot air rises.
- Auger Ash Removal System - A great "idea", until a nail or other obstruction jams them, (what a job to fix). It takes more time to remove ashes through an auger, as they need to force the ashes through the grates numerous times Also, operators tell us they have to remove the auger each time they use it or it becomes immobilized!
- Heat Transfer Tubes - They are high maintenance. They must be cleaned with a brush regularly to keep them from plugging up. Long smoke flues through the water makes start up more difficult when the stove is cold.
- Domestic Water Heat Coil Inside the Boiler - Provides a less responsive hot water supply. Separate lines to pump the water out of the house, into the boiler and back into the house. A flat plate water to water heat exchanger makes much more sense.
- Fire Brick - They break and if not replaced, the dry firebox wall can be damaged by heat.
- Uncontrolled Forced Draft - An uncontrolled fan speed reduces the efficiency because of increased stack temperatures. Fans push air into the firebox, thus pushing heat out the chimney.
- Fiberglass Insulation - Unlike sprayed foam insulation, fiberglass insulation is not airtight. This allows air and moisture to penetrate and deteriorate the water jacket from the build up of moisture. When fiberglass insulation comes into contact with moisture, the insulation also loses R-value that results in a loss of heat.
All in all, the Central Boiler outdoor wood furnace does not need or require these features.
